YouTube

Video viewing in one place

YouTube is a video streaming and publishing app for watching channels, searching for specific clips, following subscriptions, and keeping track of viewing history. It suits viewers who want access to a broad mix of entertainment, news, education, music, live broadcasts, and user-made videos from one Android app.

What it includes

• Personalised browsing: Home and Explore surfaces suggest videos based on viewing activity, while search helps locate channels, topics, and individual uploads.
• Subscriptions and library tools: Follow channels, revisit watched videos, and keep personal viewing activity organised across supported devices.
• Playback controls: Adjust video quality, use captions where available, and continue watching across phones, tablets, and compatible smart TVs.
• Creator features: Eligible users can upload videos, publish updates, interact with audiences, and start live streams from the mobile app.

How it feels to use

The main navigation separates discovery, subscriptions, and personal library content, making the core tasks easy to reach. The app also combines standard long-form videos with Shorts, live content, comments, and other community features. That range is useful, although the number of content types can make the interface feel busy.

It is a practical fit for regular video viewers and for creators who need basic publishing and audience tools on mobile.
